Sponsors and partners
Since 1984, Tangente has conducted promotional work that has resulted through the years in the creation of presenter networks and the development of important collaborations and partnerships in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia. Important collaborations ensued with, among others, the Maisons de la culture network in Montreal, Candance (a Canadian network organization for specialized presenters), LibreÉchange, Danspace Projects (New York), the Flynn Center (Burlington), Danse Nord-America, DNA (Mexico, Montreal, New York), Dance Roads (Montreal-Seoul-Tokyo tour) and the Repérages de Danse à Lille in Europe. These collaborations have resulted in the presentation of more than 150 choreographers and dance companies in Montreal and numerous local and Canadian companies abroad, giving significant exposure to contemporary dance.
Through national dance networks, Tangente has presented in many Canadian cities, such as Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Peterborough, Regina, St-John's, Toronto and Vancouver. These partnerships have also allowed the presentation of Canadian choreographers and companies in a dozen other countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, the United States, France, Great Britain, Mexico, Portugal, Slovenia, Switzerland, Korea and Japan. Conversely, these collaborations have enabled the foreign companies from these countries to not only come to Canada, but also Brazil, the Czech Republic, Tunisia, Algeria and Venezuela. In collaboration with its partners from the Canadian network Candance, Tangente also established a series entitled Vitrine autochtone, a project intended to make better known the work of choreographers from the First Nations of Canada.
Tangente is a partner and founder of this network of Canadian presenters, which now includes more than 28 members. Bi-annual tours and exchanges are organized throughout Canada.
